I need transportation from Emerald Isle to Banner Elk, sold out at ncsports.org
(Preview)
I want to go on this ride again. I did it once before and loved it. I couldn't sign up earlier because my mom just died and I wasn't sure how long my father would need me to help him. Does anyone have any ideas of how to get back to the start point to get my car and go back home in South Florida? I looked into Amtrak...

I received the participant's guide part II, and its gear list, and have a few questions about some items: Dog repellant - What brand is recommended? Any particular size, style, etc.? I'm familiar with bear spray, but not dog repellant. Last summer I sought dog repellant spray in pet stores, and could...

Tent Porter Service v.s. Bring your own tent
(Preview)
Looking for pros and cons of the Tent Porter Service. Did Ragbrai in July using my own tent but setting up and breaking down a damp tent from the morning dew quickly became old. Has anyone used the tent service on this or any other ride?

I checked out the FAQs and it recommends cycling and clothing gear. But what are the recommendations or restrictions on camping gear? I think I read no suitcases?? What do we pack our things in? E-Bike Rental

My husband and I are road bikers, but we don't do quite the distance and elevation that is at the first half of the ride, so we are interested in renting e-bikes. Does anyone know of a bike shop from which we might rent e-bikes for the week? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bring a derailleur hanger
(Preview)
A few years ago on a week-long bike tour one of the participants bent his der hanger on the first day. Local bike shops are unlikely to have one that fits your bike - its usually a special order part. There is a change this year when reserving hotels for the Mountains to Coast ride. Using the Travel Agent supplied by Cycle NC, you must pay for the hotels rooms at time of booking instead of later during the ride. That may or may-not be a hardship on riders.
