Ride Share from Charlotte to Washington - Spring Ride 2009

Hello fellow riders.  I am going to participate in the Spring Ride April 17 - 19.  I will drive up on Thursday afternoon and return to Charlotte on Sunday evening April 19.  I have a Ford Escape with a bike rack.  I would welcome company for the ride.  I am also going to the ride not knowing anyone so I would love to make a friend or two before the ride from the Charlotte area just to know a name or a face once we get there.  I am planning on riding long distances over the 3 days as I am preparing for a 561 mile ride the first week of June.

That is so nice of you to offer a ride from Charlotte.  Cyclists are such a great group of people.  I will be with a group of 4 (2 couples) driving from Charlotte also, so I don't need a ride but just wanted to say hi. You are welcome to ride (we ride slow!) or hang out with us.  We will also be arriving thursday.  If  you want to meet at packet pick up or for dinner thursday call me thursday at 704-641-1779.

Thank you for the response and the great offer.  I will give you a call so we can discuss the logistics.  I am staying at the Days Inn in Washington.  Are you guys in a hotel or tenting it?  I love camping but traveling alone for this one - I thought the hotel would be the best option.  I look forward to getting to know you guys.  I did a 60 mile ride last week in Shelby and a 50 mile this weekend down in Union County.  I look forward to next weekend.  It should be a lot of fun.  I need to log lots of saddle time preparing for the ride I am doing at the end of May.
