The Town of Lake Lure has been selected to host the 2023 Cycle North Carolina Mountain Ride August 4-6. Lake Lure is one of the most picturesque mountain towns in the United States. Lake Lure is located in the Hickory Nut Gorge and surrounded by mountain tops and granite cliffs. Lake Lure has been the filming location for scenes from the movies Thunder Road, Dirty Dancing, A Breed Apart, The Last of the Mohicans and Firestarter. Camping for the event will be located on banks of the one of the most beautiful man-made lakes in country. Indoor accommodations will be available at various historic inn's, bed and breakfast inn's, cabins, etc. A location for indoor camping will also be available.
